Privacy notice

The Axe Factor is operated by Out of Bounds Immersive Experiences Ltd ("we", "us"). This notice explains how we handle your personal data when you book, sign a waiver, buy a voucher, or visit us. Last updated: 26 August 2026.

What we collect, and why

• Booking details — name, email, mobile number, group size, session time. Used to run your booking: confirmations, reminders, and changes you make. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
• Safety waivers — full name, date of birth, guardian's name for under-18s, and your signature. Axe throwing needs a signed safety agreement from every thrower. Lawful basis: contract and our legitimate interest in running the activity safely; the record also protects both of us if there's ever an incident.
• Payments — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Lawful basis: contract.
• Party invitations — if the lead booker adds you to their group, we hold your name and the email/mobile they gave us, only to send your waiver link and session details. Lawful basis: legitimate interest (getting your group ready). Ask us and we'll remove it.
• Gift vouchers — buyer and recipient names/emails, to deliver and redeem the voucher. Lawful basis: contract.

Who we share it with

Only processors we need to run the service: Stripe (payments), Supabase (secure database hosting), Resend (email delivery), TextMagic (SMS delivery). Booking operations (never waiver contents) appear in our private staff channel so the team can run your session. We don't sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.

How long we keep it

• Booking and payment records: up to 6 years (accounting and tax law).
• Signed waivers: 3 years after your visit (limitation period for personal-injury claims), then deleted.
• Party invitations: deleted with the booking's records, or sooner on request.

Keeping it secure

Your booking page is protected by a private link sent only to you; anyone without it must prove the booking's mobile number via a texted code before anything personal is shown. Access to our admin systems requires individual staff logins, and actions are audit-logged.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email axeperts@theaxefactor.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
